Absolutely! We offer trials to see if you children LOVE it before signing up, usually in Term 1 for ages 9+, and Term 3 for juniors.

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we do. Please inform us during enrollment if you require a payment plan or call us on 0416166013.
How long should my child attend to enjoy all the benefits of drama?
We typically think that a full year enables students to fully gain the benefits of our classes, fully understand and experience the skills we teach, and apply said skills to present them to an audience.
Term 1 is about making connections and finding their rhythm with their peers and teachers, which has a huge impact on our students. Enrolling beyond one term assists in building confidence, aiding social skills, and improving overall communication. We do ask that if you enrol for Term 1, you commit to the whole term, and should your child take part in the end of year production, this requires full commitment for Terms 3 and 4.
Are you able to support the struggles or blocks that my child is facing (socially or internally)?
We love nothing more than communicating openly with students and parents about their specific needs and taking the time to fully understand their circumstances and aspirations.
Our tutors and Director work closely with parents to discuss appropriate strategies to ensure an enjoyable, purposeful journey for their child. We offer a safe, supportive environment for them to explore self expression with confidence and creativity. Following their journey closely, parents are informed every step of the way, and this includes opportunities to audition for specialist programs e.g. John Curtin College of the Arts.
How many students are in the class?
There are 14 students in our 6-8 year olds classes and up to 20 students in our other classes.
Is this a great way for my child to make friends?
We firmly believe in the importance of human connection and courage students to interact with their class peers so they get to know each other. It’s an amazing way to form beautiful friendships, especially surrounded by so many like-minded creatives! We’ve witnessed students form incredible bonds and become lifelong friends.
How do I know which class is right for my child?
Discovery is for children who are new to drama processes and the class we’d recommend for those with 0-2 years experience in the arts. Breakthrough classes are for students who have 2+ years experience in creating and exploring dramatic processes and have had experience performing as a team/ensemble.
Advanced Groups are for those with 3+ years of experience and have worked through their Breakthrough classes at our club. Please call our Director, Alethea, on 0416166013 or email dramaclub@intothemask.com. We’d love to help you with choosing the right class!
Can I stay and watch my child's classes?
Of course! We encourage parents to stay and watch how their child/children interact with others. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be a fly on the wall and see how much they thrive and enjoy expressing themselves creatively!
What should my child wear and bring to class?
Students wear DC t-shirts (these are compulsory and available for purchase) and ‘all black theatre’ clothing for bottoms. DC t-shirts and hoodies are available for purchase, and we do require all students to wear shoes and bring along a drink bottle.
Can I book through your website?
Absolutely - head to our main navigation and click on Online Registration to find the class suitable for your child.
Are there any opportunities for scholarships so my child can attend?
We are currently working on a 2022 program to offer places for a scholarship. Please stay tuned or sign up to our mailing list.
Do you provide classes for homeschooled children?
Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer as we believe all children in our community are welcome to join any of the classes we already have on offer.
What is involved in the end of year (term 3 and 4) performance?
Ideally we would love that every child who starts with us in Term 1 gets to experience the joy that comes with presenting and performing alongside teammates in a REAL THEATRE experience.
At the end of Term 2 we announce our Performance Script and places are limited to the size of classes for ages 9+ groups only. ONce we begin Term 3, the students are cast as their characters from the play and the whole group begin the process of learning lines, rehearsing each week and finally in November, perform in a real theatre.
Please note Fees are different for Term 3 & 4 Full commitment is required for Term 3 & 4. Why? Because the role your child is given cannot be replaced easily. The production process is an exciting and challenging part of the program and it requires children to work as a united team. If there are any doubts, it is important to speak with any of the team immediately.
Do I have to pay for costumes?
We value empowering our children and giving them the opportunity to create their own costumes for our end of year productions. They have the ability to study and learn about characterisation, so it seems fitting for the child to take ownership of how they see them dressed. We encourage the parents to get involved and create together as part of a shared creative experience, that is low budget and resourceful.
Are you connected with casting agencies?
We are not connected to any casting agencies for film or stage, however there are some great companies that we can recommend should you wish to pursue further opportunities. Please give us a call or send an email.
